Greece Travel, Tours, Vacations & Honeymoons

YIASSOU !

Just an overnight flight away lies the magical land that is Greece. Here in one of Europe's most romantic, most historical and most inviting countries, you will feel instantly at home.

The philosopher in you will seek the legacy of ancient Greece that pervades the consciousness of all western nations.

The historian in you will be drawn by the fascination of some of the western world's earliest civilizations and your soul will be forever touched by the beauty of this haunting land.

Broken Column, Delphi, Greece We fell in love with Greece over 25 years ago, and on each return, my heart still skips a beat with the first glimpse of the shimmering blue Aegean. It will be the same for you as you discover the village or island that is especially yours.

I found my place in the sun on the island of Symi and now return as often as possible to my small house overlooking the harbor and the shores of Turkey in the distance.

GREECE HONEYMOONS Picture yourself sitting on your balcony on a special Greek Island... a glass of chilled white wine, a little feta cheese, a few pistachio nuts perhaps as the sun sets in a blaze of reds over the sparkling Aegean sea hundreds of feet below you. This, you feel, is the ultimate in romance and beauty and your hearts stop at the joy of being in this most beautiful of places with the one you love.

GREECE HONEYMOON PACKAGES from budget to luxury. Combine Santorini Honeymoons, Mykonos Honeymoons and other Greek Islands with sightseeing on mainland Greece.

GREECE SAILING Participate or relax. Adventure sailing in the Greek Islands is the best way to get to know Greece. On your own, with friends or as a group, we can arrange your sailing holiday in Greece.

GREECE CRUISES We specialize in small yacht cruises so that you can see the Greek Islands minus the crowds. Travel with from 40-140 other passengers on casual or luxury Greece cruising yachts.

GREECE SIGHTSEEING TOURS These tours are perfect to combine with other destinations in Greece or Turkey and will provide you with an overview of the most important Classical and Archaeological sites. Choose from 1 - 7 day options.

ESCORTED GREECE TOUR This is an annual trip led by Shirley Smith to provide travelers with an insider's look at the best of Greece. Tour is limited to 16 people and visits Athens, the coast of Turkey and the Islands of Rhodes, Symi and Samos

INDEPENDENT GREEK HIKING Want something organized but yet your own? Like to hike, meet local people, see a side of a Greek island most people can only dream about? If the answer is yes, this trip is for you. Pick your starting day, add a few other locales and you have the perfect Greek holiday.

CUSTOM INDEPENDENT TRAVEL The possibilities are endless and we are here to help you choose between them to make your visit to Greece, whether it is your first or a repeat, the absolute best.

SYMI ISLAND This tiny island is our favorite. Away from the hustle and bustle of the other islands, Symi is a place to relax and enjoy the beauty. Our Symi Island page offers private villas.

Greece, has clung to it traditions more tenaciously than perhaps any other European country. For hundreds of years the land we now know as Greece suffered foreign occupation. But neither the Franks, the Venetians, the Turks or most recently the Italians, could erase the traditions and religion that kept the notion of Greek statehood alive. And today those traditions and feelings are evidenced wherever you look. You will see in every city, town and village the celebrations of Greek Easter. The white powdered sugar covered kouloria are baked in every house and from each church on Good Friday the epitafios, the flower covered representation of the body of Christ, is carried through the town.

Greek doorway Traditions might mean having the priest bless your new house or fishing boat, pinning the small blue glass eye on the diaper of each newborn child to fend off the evil eye, or a family spontaneously rising from an afternoon of feasting to dance in the sun.

Wherever you are in Greece, you will be welcomed and invited to take part in daily life.. You might be beckoned by a complete stranger to sit and enjoy a glass of ouzo, or to stop for a coffee. Life slows down and you begin to truly relax, as you realize that it doesn't matter if the ferry is late or you spend more time than you had planned exploring every nook and cranny of the Acropolis or perhaps some tiny, unexpected ruin at the end of a dirt road.

Santorini, Greece - Astra Hotel View Travel in Greece can be as busy or as simple as you desire.

Take a sightseeing tour to the classical and archaelogical sites of Delphi or Olympia, Epidaurus or Mycenae. Listen to a concert under the stars in the ancient theater of Herod Atticus at the foot of the Acropolis. Hike to almost forgotten villages in the northern mainland, explore the haunting Mani in the Peloponnese.

But, whatever else you do, visit the islands.

Romantic and dramatic Santorini with its sparkling cave houses clinging to the side of the cliff overlooking the caldera provides the most perfect of honeymoon choices.

Mykonos with its tiny winding streets, endless beaches and nightlife, Rhodes with its medieval Old Town and fascinating ruins, Symi with its pastel houses cascading down the hill to water's edge, Crete with the remains of the Ancient Minoan civilization all call in different ways.

Each island has its own charm and personality and you could spend months hopping from island to island and still never see them all.

We've found an amazing website from the Hellenic Ministry of Culture. This site contains information on the historical and archeological sites in Greece, plus museums, churches and more.

Start with The Cultural Map of Greece where you can click an area on a map and drill down to a specific area and finally to a description and pictures of each site. Or, you can start with the home page for the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.

Donkeys - Symi, Greece Ways of traveling in Greece are almost as endless as the destinations themselves. You may wish to rent a car on the mainland to visit the Peloponnese or the mountains of the northern mainland.

You may choose to take an hour's flight from Athens to the island of your choice. Perhaps you will cruise between islands on board a luxury liner where your every desire is provided for. Ships large and small offer a tantalizing choice.

More active travelers may choose small motor yachts carrying 20 - 40 people on a week long adventure to a wide choice of islands. Sailors and would be sailors have their choice of hundreds of sailboats with or without crew, and for the ultimate luxury, deluxe crewed yachts are at your beck and call.

Greek accommodations are available to fit any budget or taste. You may choose a luxurious Athens hotel such as the striking new NJV Athens Plaza, or a friendly, small hotel at the base of the Acropolis such as the Phillipos.

Santorini's luxurious cave dwellings can be simple or deluxe In Rhodes you can stay in a tiny hotel inside the ancient walls or a deluxe seaside resort. In Symi you might wish to try a stay in a traditional island house. The choice is always yours but we are happy to make suggestions.

However or wherever you wish to travel in Greece, we offer you our many years of love and knowledge of this enchanting land and our personalized, friendly service to provide you with the Greek tour of your dreams.
